PROUD TO WORK WITH ATHLETES FROM
Dr. Jon's Story
Built from a love of sport and a refusal to accept "you're fine"
I help high-performing adults eliminate recurring pain, rebuild their bodies, and perform at a high level again—by fixing the underlying movement and nervous system patterns most programs miss.
My approach is shaped by a lifetime in sport and firsthand experience with the realities of injury, recovery, and performance. Having competed across multiple sports—including baseball, football, golf, tennis, and rugby—I understand the physical and mental demands that come with pushing your body to a high level.
I completed my degree in Kinesiology at Acadia University before earning my Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College. During my clinical training, I worked with the Buffalo Bills medical staff and the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Buffalo, and later supported varsity athletes within a multidisciplinary environment at the Carleton University Sports Medicine Clinic.
In 2016, I founded FORTIS to bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation and high-performance training. The focus is simple: don’t just reduce symptoms—correct the patterns that create them.
My work centers on identifying and correcting dysfunctional movement and neuromuscular patterns, while improving how the nervous system regulates tension, coordination, and recovery. This creates the foundation for not just getting out of pain—but building a body that is strong, resilient, and capable of sustained performance.
This integrated approach combines:
• movement and strength training
• nervous system regulation
• pain science
• recovery and sleep optimization
• nutrition and metabolic health
Over the years, this work has led to opportunities to consult with athletes competing at the highest levels, including organizations within the National Hockey League, National Football League, and Canadian Football League, as well as collegiate and national team environments.
I continue to pursue advanced training to stay at the forefront of performance and rehabilitation, with certifications in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (Prague School of Rehabilitation), Active Release Techniques, Neuro-functional Medical Acupuncture (McMaster University), and athletic movement assessment. I am also currently completing my Functional Medicine Certification (National University) to further integrate metabolic and systems-based approaches into performance care.
At its core, my work is about helping people reconnect with how their body is meant to function—so they can move well, recover fully, and perform at the level they know they’re capable of.

4 Foundational Pillars of Health
Every program Dr. Jon runs is built around the same foundation: the four pillars that determine how you feel, perform, recover, and age.
Sleep
Your body repairs, regulates hormones, and consolidates memory during sleep. Dr. Jon analyzes your genetic sleep predispositions and builds a protocol around your biology — not generic advice.
Nutrition
Food is information for your genes. Dr. Jon uses epigenetic data to build a nutrition approach calibrated to your unique metabolic blueprint.
Movement
Using DNS — Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization — Dr. Jon retrains movement patterns at the neurological level, restoring function and preventing injury at the source.
Stress
Chronic stress rewrites your gene expression. Dr. Jon's coaching addresses the physiological and neurological drivers of stress to build lasting resilience.
